Cup with sugar
Another illustration of my little series of cups :). I enjoy drawing them a lot!!
Yesterday I didn't post anything here because I was very busy!! I'm working on something new and soon I lost rack of time... then it was too late to post anything! Still a little to finish it, but I can do it!! :)
Tomorrow a new illustration!! The week is starting, so good luck!!

Work hard!
A little color sketch done with acrylic I forgot I had in my old Moleskine. I actually can't remember where this idea came from... Maybe I just wanted to draw a fox :D.
These days I'm working on something that's making me very happy and motivated. I'm doing my best, so I hope everything will end all right at the end...
So, that's all for today! Have a nice weekend!!

Sketches
Today I'm a little busy! so here are four little sketches I made while studying Photography for the wardrobe of this session I told you about. I have a pile of sheets for this work, but it can be a little repetitive and with this little sample is enough :)
Of course, those were some of the first sketches, at the end I changed the clothes style a little.
That's all for today! Have fun!!

Origin
Today, another illustration I made in Odosketck back in 2009.
I think it was one of the illustrations I drew there that took me longer to finish, but I had a lot of fun with it and couldn't help to keep going with it... also, I think it's one of my favourite I made then :).
By the way, I forgot to say I recorded the video with Camtasia Studio before that page closed.
So, here is the video! Hope you like it!

Operación Ozono
"Operación Ozono" is the first children book I have illustrated, written by Felipe Galán Camacho. It was published by Edimáter after finishing my illustration studies in 2009 (also, it was my final proyect). Back then it made me really happy when I was told I was going to illustrate it (even now), but it took me a while to assimilate it because it seemed a dream...
The experience was great! My editor was very patient and taught me a lot. I'm really glad for that :). Also, I tried some techniques with this illustration I hadn't' tried before, and it was very fun!
Here are a two illustrations I made for this book, although there are more inside:
You can buy it from Edimáter' shop here. But it can also be found at Amazon and other stores. Just keep in mind it's in Spanish!
Have a nice day and see you tomorrow!!

Lollipop masks
Something different for today! It's one of the things I told you some post ago I made an improvised photo session :).
Those little masks (or "lollipop" as I called them) was created by hand for the atrezzo of a photo session I made in my photography class. I had to buy some clothes, and even create two long skirts (thanks to my mother) for this session, but I wanted to create some objects for the model to hold at some point of the session.
After sketching some ideas, I wanted to add them some decorations, not all of it painted (acrylic in this case together with cardboard), such as the pearls, the lace or even the fake eyelashes... yeah, I thought it would be nice to give them some "real" eyes (I already had the idea of their eyes being closed, so, why not? :) ), I just looked for two different to give them some "personality" according with their color. By the way, the darker one is inspired in 20's and the pink one is inspired by lolita fashion.
I only had a model, one my dear classmates (poor girl, I gave her a hard time back then...love you!). She used two clothes' styles during this session: one with sweet colors and the other with darker colors. That's why I created those "lollipop" she would be holding when wearing the contrary color scheme.
Here you can see two photos that weren't chosen to give to the teacher, but that way you have an idea of their size:
Did I tell you she had to wear two different head masks during all the session? One of a white rabbit (for sweeter clothes) and another of a rat's (when wearing darker clothes). Everyone was "scared" of the rat one, because it was quite realistic, but at the end it was the one that worked the best with the photos. My classmates ended thinking it was very cool :). You can see a little of its ear in the first photo.
Maybe someday I will show some of these photos here, but for now, the focus are the "lollipops" :). I will try to show you some of the sketches I made for this session soon.
Have a nice day and tomorrow more!

Tea with sugar
An illustration of a little series I colored last month (because the sketch was draw months before I decided to color it). I wanted to try another way to color, and I had a lot of fun with it :)
Today I received so good news!! I'm really happy!! Life is beautiful and we have to try to live it happily and to enjoy it.
Now to watch a film with my sister, but later I will try to start a new illustration and to plan some future posts for my blog ;)
Have fun!!

Looking back
I have always loved drawing, since a kid, my parents noticed it right away, and I enjoyed it.
Since then I have been always drawing, and especially as a kid, learning by myself. I was not conscious always, but I "forced" (dunno a better word to describe it) myself to try to draw, for example, a face from a photograph. No one showed me how to do it (and of course I made some terrible mistakes, like not knowing about face' structure, or how to use the pencil correctly. But I just started to learn about pencil's pressure, or even using my finger to smooth it to create shading.
When I was a teenager I started to read comics, and of course, to draw them. Again, nobody taught me about page's composition or panels or anything, but I did it anyway, and started to create my own characters and stories (to call them someway, they were terrible, but I had no problem to show to people I didn't even know).
But as I grew older and older, I noticed I started to lose that... "intuition". I keep learning , by myself and by others, or that feeling of "I just want to draw something, I don't care what it's". I hadn't any pressure.
I suppose that's what mean to grow... I still love drawing, it's my passion I wanted to become my profession as a child, but sometimes I miss that sense of "freedom" and "intuition" I had as a child. Luckily, there are times sometimes I still feel it, like cracks. Nowadays I try hard to treasure them and enjoy them while they last.
Childhood is for sure really beautiful, that's maybe why I love so much children's books, and to draw for them. I got that feeling again together with many happy memories, and I think it's great.
...
Hope you have a nice day and see you tomorrow :).

Hiding time
Nothing new just that yesterday I almost finished another illustration, which really entertained me even if I had to do it almost twice... I can't deal with computers sometimes... but I'm glad that happened. I will show you this one in the future. Not that it's that strange, but I had fun with it :).
I will try to show you different things next week, meanwhile, have fun!!

Commission
A digital drawing a friend asked me to do some time ago. It's her with her reflex camera! :).
Today is a busy day, so I'm in a hurry. But I will try to get some time to draw or at least to sketch a little. I need to take a deep breath and to keep going :)

Sunrise Kid
Again another illustration I drew with Odosketch. Please keep in mind I made it in 2009!!
This time, I wanted to draw a little kid sleeping, and in his blanket you can see it's morning time! Time to wake up!
I thought about posting it today because there're some workmans across my house, and they start working soon in the morning, waking me up constantly... I feel so tired every morning because of this...
There's nothing I can do! Hope you have a nice day and here is the video to my YouTube account:

Tempest
Cloudy hair girl with a dress as a umbrella. It's the "colleague" I told you about in this post also with the same technique:).
Time is cooling! Sure September is here and summer is finishing! Not that weather is that bad today! But its cloudy and a little cold, at least for me, I'm very sensitive to cold.
I'm welcoming September with energy! I want to keep on doing my best to improve with my illustrations! See you again tomorrow! Have a nice day!

Game friends
Digital illustration of two friends playing with game consoles :)
I had a lot of fun with it! This idea came to me suddenly! For me, it's like they are exchanging Pokemon or something? How many memories...
When I was a child I liked playing with this Game Boy Color console, even if I only had a few games I shared with my sister (but they were more than enough for me!). She had the green one, mine was blue. Even now I keep these old games and consoles, sadly some games got corrupted :(.
Tomorrow more! Have fun!
EDIT: I forgot to show two little close-up of this illustration. Better late than never!:

Long live!
Something different this time!! It's a fan art of Ponyo I drew to use as a strap together with others of my favourite Ghibli's characters.
Back then I wanted to try another way to color, so it was fun!
I thought about showing at least one here because of Hayao Miyazaki's retire from full-length animated films. I adore his films and he's an inspiration for me and many other artists (I really can't decide which one is my favorite). I hope all goes right for him now, and I can't wait to watch and buy his last film.
It makes me remember the present I received from some really good friends, it was "The Art of Howl's Moving Castle" in English. It's gorgeous, really inspiring and I could spend hours just taking a look at its illustrations and sketches. One of my favourite books for sure, together with the novel this film is inspired by, written by Diana Wynne Jones (RIP)
I feel like watching one of his films today! Maybe Chihiro's? I dunno!
See you tomorrow with a new illustration!

Sketchy
Today is a non-stop day! So, here are these sketches I posted already in my Pinterest.
The first one is done with watercolors, and the second one is done with some new pencil colors I'm really loving lately. I need to find time to keep testing them, but at the same time I'm scared of wasting them soon :(...
It's all for today! Have fun!

Pink aquamarine
A little watercolor test from my Moleskine... yeah, again :D. I wanted to try a few colors in this, it was fun!.
I'm preparing a few things for next week, if all goes right!
See you!

YouTube and Odosketch
I have been thinking about to create a YouTube account for my work for a time, it specially came to my mind after finishing Photography, there I created a few videos I thought about posting there.
So, why not to give it a try? Here is my YouTube account. For now, I will post some old videos. I'll try to make something video-related once in a while when I get time :).
The first video I'm showing you there is a video I recorded recently from a page that disappeared last month (after eight years if I read correctly), I'm talking about Odosketch. I found this page back in 2009, and that's when I drew that illustration you can see in the video. There, you could draw using very few brushes and colors (each color had its own brush, also, each one with a different brush stroke) an eraser and nothing more, you could not go back if you made a mistake, just keep drawing. All your sketching process would be recorded to be reproduced, when saved the drawing, as a speed painting.
It was very interesting to see other people's work, how they worked, you could learn a lot that way. Sadly, I didn't use this for more than a year, I forgot about it till now that I got to know it was going to disappear.
It's one of the first I made there:
And here is its process:
It was a test to try the brushes a little, so it's quite short, but the rest I recorded are a little longer and detailed :).
Now I wish to have drawn more there, but I forgot about it, it's sad, it was very interesting to see how much you could using using very few and basic tools.
I will tell you when I post more videos there!! It's all for now. See you tomorrow!

Flow...
One of the first watercolors from my first Moleskine. I wanted to post something different for today but at the end I changed my mind. I will post that thing soon, together with some photos I told you about posts ago... I think it will be a long one ;).
Today I will try to advance a little with a new illustration I finished sketching yesterday. I'm still a little "tired" from my holidays, but I can do it!! :)
Have a nice day!

Gardener
A watercolor with warm colors from my Moleskine. I drew her another colleague next to her in the same page of my sketchbook,
Summer is coming to an end little by little, but it's still hot here... also, I just came back from my holidays, and I have the feeling I have a lot of late work to do... it's strange!. Better if I keep drawing, don't you think?
Have a nice day!! Tomorrow more!

Art Lady
Little digital test of a sketch I made in my Moleskine.
I wanted to draw a girl, kind of an "Art Lady", which her braid's end was a nib and her bangs were a stained brush.
I have many things I want to show you, but I need time to organize all my illustrations before I show them in my blog, but I can do it!. Hope you have a nice day and see you tomorrow!!

Blue, yellow and white
Here I'm again!!
An illustration I made from an old and small sketch. I knew the colors I wanted to use in this, but I didn't feel like drawing it till recently :)
I had fun days with my friends at the beach, but now is time to go back to work and to my routine. I will show you some illustrations I drew before my vacations, while I work with some new these days. I hope this month to be good for me!
Have a nice day and see you tomorrow!!

A little break
It's been years since the last time I went on vacation to diverse problems... It'll help me to relax (although I'm not relaxed at all today, I am scared I will forget something!) and as a little regard to myself, I deserve it!! it's been too many bad experiences this month (well, not everything was so bad...) and I worked hard!. I hope it will make me good, even if they are so few days.
I will take with me a little notebook and a pencil, to sketch when I get some ideas, no pressure, just for fun! Also, I will tame my reflex camera with me, to practice photography a little again.
I don't think I will upload something here tomorrow, I will be busy, but I will try to post on Monday or on Tuesday. Maybe I will write something on my Twitter, but not here. I have some digital works to show and some post planned for this month, so be patient!.
So, see you in a few days!! Have a nice start of the month.

Watercolor practice
Old watercolor practice from my old Moleskine. It was one of the first drawings I made in my old Moleskine. The original illustration is smaller, but I enlarged it it a little with the computer.
No stop days lately, but very happy because soon I will have a few days to relax a little...
Hope you enjoy your Sunday!! :)
