Window and plants

I drew this watercolor of a window with plants a while ago (I wish I could keep plants alive like that... sadly not my thing!!). Spring is almost here!!

I am alive, just busy, and even if I don't post too much lately, I keep an eye on them, I promise.

By the way, last Saturday I participated with a friend in an art market here in my city and it was fun!! I loved to talk to foreigners either in English or French (my french is too oxidated, I need to practice it more!!) I was dead by the end of the day, but that's not a bad thing :). Thank you to thse who passed by!!

Hope you have a nice day!!

Plant

Watercolor I made last year of a plant. Really obsessed with nature and plants back then.

One of the things I wanted to do for this year was to draw with more traditional techniques, so these days I'm using watercolors a lot. Expect some illustrations with watercolors in the next weeks. I'm trying to practice with the newer ones I could get last year. Now I really want to get new paper, as I'm getting more used to color, but I have not as much experience with paper as I would like. Any recommendations?

Hope you are having a great day. See you!!!

Teapot home

Spending a summer at home, but working a lot!! Even so, I wish colder days to come soon so I can have alittle cup of hot tea again.

These days I have been playing and having fun with some new watercolors I got a while ago.

Hope you are having a nice day!!

Live drawing session

This Sunday (16th November), as I told you last post, I was invited to participate in a live drawing session as part of an event called "Te-beo en la calle" celebrated in my city. Well, the day arrived and I had to draw whatever people wanted me to draw.

I was a little nervous at first, it makes me nervous to have people watching intently what I'm doing, but it was something I wanted to try and to test myself. At the end that nervousness went away and I was able to make it! I had a lot fun drawing among really talented artists (I loved the time we had drawing for each other!! :).

It was great to talk to those who came to you asking for a drawing (especially little kids, like the one on the photo who asked me for a princess). Here you have a photo my sister took of me while I was drawing one of these (from my Instagram). Surely I will edit this post later to add more:

This time I was asked for an Alice eating the magic mushroom. Here is a photo of its inking process.

A cat with a cloth hat.

But not everything will be photos in this post! I took there with me some fast illustrations I drew the day before with me. I thought that maybe it would take me a long time to finish just a few illustrations, so I let people in a hurry to take one of those with them. I'm glad I did it because sometimes there were too many people waiting!! Here you have two of them, I will post some of these maybe in my Twitter:

Two random illustrations done with ink and markers

All I can say is that it was a great experience, I'm glad I took part in it, as it was a new challenge for me for sure! People was really nice and I can't wait to meet again all those talented artists who participated. A great way to spend a Sunday! Sure thing I ended exausted, but it was deserved.

Hope you have fun!! Have a nice day!!

Developing the soul

This is the last watercolor I made.

It was for my talented friend Pilar Alcaro, who asked me to draw her a portrait with this technique, to represent her (or how I see her), but not too realistically. She asked me for a lot of color and to draw some photography objects on it (as she is photographed), in this case, a film roll and a simulated diaphragm at her chest. And freedom, she wanted me to draw it without restrictions.

I'm glad I decided to give it a try, something different once in a while is nice! So, I tried hard to talk about this wonderful and strong person with this watercolor, but I leave the interpretation of what every element means to you.

By the way, if you are curious, you can see some of her photography in her two blogs, HERE and HERE, I'm sure you won't regret it! And I can assure you she has more works to show you in the future, so keep an eye on her! ;)
Hope you have a nice week! Have fun!

Featured in Templum Magazine

Back in 2013, I was asked by Templum Magazine's creators to make an interview for it and to show some of my traditional illustrations I made back then, among many others talented artists. They were really nice and kind and I want to thank to Ediciones Babylon (this magazine is one of their projects) for the oportunity.

The wait was long, but here is my contribution for Templum 10th issue (pages 106-111). It can be read online too, both in English and Spanish :). Also, you can download it for free if you want. Here is more information about how to download this and later issues too.

Nothing else for today, just to tell you that later today, and tomorrow, I will be out to attend a workshop about programming together with many girls. I will let you know about it once it's finished, but for sure tomorrow I won't be able to post anything here, sadly I won't get any time at all...

So, have fun!!

Drops of life

Bad weather these last days! Specially windy and rainy, but it looks like soon the sun will appear... or so I think (I wish actually, because there's a fast trip I'm planing to do soon, and I want that day to be a good one, you know...).  Because of it, I remembered this illustration I made in my Moleskine... last year, while I was playing with watercolor ("wet on wet"). It was really fun ;)

I hope it gets better soon. Now I need to go back to work!! I have some illustrations pending to be finished. Let's go!

I hope you have a good start of the week! See you!

Badges

Today I'm working on the final illustrations for a commission, to make with them some badges, so I have no time!! But I'm enjoying it for sure, so that's good ;)

So, here I show you some old badges I made with some of my illustrations like... two years ago? if not more, concretely this and this one.

Badges can be a really cute detail, specially if you can personalize them!

Nothing else for today!! See you :)

Jump and continue

I never intended to post this illustration in my blog (which I made in my Moleskine some months ago). But I changed my mind, I thought that I only could post it today...

My best wishes for you.

Little witch

Today a little sketch from my old Moleskine of a little witch!

Halloween is almost here! Will you dress up for it? I won't, but I think it's a good excuse for people to have fun and pretend to be a different person.. or character ;) once in a while.

Hope you have fun this week!! See you tomorrow!

Aplause

Again another watercolor practice from my Moleskine, this time with warm colors :)

This week is being a chaos! I need to rest and I don't get time to draw :(. Though a good news came with it that made me really happy, I will try to tell you soon (or as soon as I get everything needed ready for it) ;). So, this is the week for sketches!! Even when I was not in my house, I always carried with me a little sketchbook. I hope next week will be more "productive"!

Have fun and see you tomorrow!!

Butterfly net

I drew this little watercolor test in my old Moleskine.

Yesterday was a holiday in my country, that's why I decided not to upload anything here. Yesterday was relax day, I even watched a few films. It doesn't hurt once in a while... although at the end of the day I felt bad and I sketched a few ideas for something I will be preparing from now on if everything goes right :)

That's all for today! have fun and see you tomorrow!!

Tempest

Cloudy hair girl with a dress as a umbrella. It's the "colleague" I told you about in this post also with the same technique:).

Time is cooling! Sure September is here and summer is finishing! Not that weather is that bad today! But its cloudy and a little cold, at least for me, I'm very sensitive to cold.

I'm welcoming September with energy! I want to keep on doing my best to improve with my illustrations! See you again tomorrow! Have a nice day!

Sketchy

Today is a non-stop day! So, here are these sketches I posted already in my Pinterest.

The first one is done with watercolors, and the second one is done with some new pencil colors I'm really loving lately. I need to find time to keep testing them, but at the same time I'm scared of wasting them soon :(...

It's all for today! Have fun!

Pink aquamarine

A little watercolor test from my Moleskine... yeah, again :D. I wanted to try a few colors in this, it was fun!.

I'm preparing a few things for next week, if all goes right!

See you!

Flow...

One of the first watercolors from my first Moleskine. I wanted to post something different for today but at the end I changed my mind. I will post that thing soon, together with some photos I told you about posts ago... I think it will be a long one ;).

Today I will try to advance a little with a new illustration I finished sketching yesterday. I'm still a little "tired" from my holidays, but I can do it!! :)

Have a nice day!

Gardener

A watercolor with warm colors from my Moleskine. I drew her another colleague next to her in the same page of my sketchbook, but I will post it here later here it's ;).

Summer is coming to an end little by little, but it's still hot here... also, I just came back from my holidays, and I have the feeling I have a lot of late work to do... it's strange!. Better if I keep drawing, don't you think?

Have a nice day!! Tomorrow more!

Watercolor practice

Old watercolor practice from my old Moleskine. It was one of the first drawings I made in my old Moleskine. The original illustration is smaller, but I enlarged it it a little with the computer.

No stop days lately, but very happy because soon I will have a few days to relax a little...

Hope you enjoy your Sunday!! :)

Cleaning up

Fast watercolor sketch from my old Moleskine I forgot to post here.

For this, I remembered that when I was a kid. I loved to wash my toys clothes in a washbowl, just like my grandmother did (even with a washing machine in the house, she preferred to wash with her hands if she had time). I specially remember doing it in summer, in my old house's patio, because always part of the water fell on me :). Maybe they didn't get THAT clean, but it was fun.

Lately I'm remembering so many things of my childhood I'm even surprised. A drawing I'm working with right now (digital) is inspired by my old house. Our own children's memories are the best inspiration we can get!. We just need to look back.

See you tomorrow!!

Asphalt and foundation

Asphalt and foundation to break through when you need to breathe again.

A little experimentation from my old Moleskine with watercolor markers. Also something different to what I usually post here but that I wanted to show anyway.

Have a nice day and see you tomorrow!!
