Winter Expedition book

Zimowa Wyprawa, or Winter Expedition in english, was one of the four books I illustrated for Zielona Sowa and written by Urszula Pitura. Again a little set with the book alone plus one of the inside of the book.

It has similar characteristics to the last one I posted some days ago, but with a red fox (and friends) as a protagonist ;)

By the way, you know these nuts come from the walnut tree, right?. Well, my last name, Nogales, is the plural of how we name/translate that tree here in Spain (nogal in the singular and nogales when it's more than one tree). So I couldn't help drawing this particular kind of nuts, it made smile :)

Again, it can be bought if you are from Poland through Zielona Sowa web.

Here is a photo of a detail of the back of the book:

With this book, let me wish you a happy new year! At least here in my country, these holidays will last till January 6th, though I hope you can enjoy the last days of these days. My best wishes for you for the start of this new year!

Snowhouse

Winter is here, so is Holidays time! Hope you enjoy them!

I wanted to do something a bit more overloaded for this year (actually I contained myself, believe me), and I must say it was really fun... Who would live there? Would you like to live in that kind of house :)?

These days I'm busy drawing and taking care of things for these celebrations. Busy for sure, but with energy.

Again, I hope you enjoy these days (which in the case of my country will last till 6th January)! I will try to post something more this week, at least showing one of the books I illustrated this year.

Have fun and be happy!

Snowflakes book

Here is one of the four children books I illustrated for Polish publishing house Zielona Sowa and written by Urszula Pitura. Finally, some photos of it taken by me (Ssadly without good enough photography equipment and not a good place to take photos. Hello natural light, indoor escene, and at-hand atrezzo :D)!

Winter is almost here, and so is Holiday time! All these books have winter related stories.

Concretely, this one ("Snowflakes" would be its title in English) is about a little bunny discovery duing winter :). It has ten pages in total and full color. Hard cardboard, its size is 19x19 cm. On the next photo you can have an idea with my hand pictured. In this case, it's the first two pages you can find when you open the book, plus the original illustration below.

I'm really happy how it turned out! They, all the four of them, are my little joy, and one of the best things that happened to me me this year 2015.

Again, it can be bought of you are from Poland through Zielona Sowa web.

I plan on doing a new post with every book during this winter ("still life" photo plus a photo from inside), so three to go, please keep an eye if you are curious! Hope you have a nice day and enjoy this almost here winter!

As these days I'm quite busy with work and I have no time, here are the next five illustrations I did for Inktober this year.

I will do my best to post something new next week ><

Remember that you can find the rest of my Inktober's illustrations in my Twitter, FaceBook and Tumblr

Now back to work! Hope you have a really nice start of December (really, December already??)

Starting

That moment when you try to start a piece... sometimes, the hardest part in my opinion.

Another autumn piece with an artist red panda. Finally cold weather is here. This year autumn was too warm in my country, but it looks like winter is drawing near each day (OMG I can't believe winter holidays are almost here! what happened this year?? I'm not ready). Too bad I'm sentitive to cold...

Now back to work. Hope you have a nice day :)!

My favourite place

Here is the illustration I did to participate on the fanzine Trampa.

So this weekend was finally the illustration and comic event celebrated in my city by Te-beo en la Calle. I participated actively at artist alley on Saturday and the life drawing session on Sunday. Both of them went better than expected! I prepared many things to sell (even got some of them out of stock!) and I meet many people, from artists to people who went to take a look and to buy something!

I can't wait for next year! Also, my city needs more events like this one, not only because they are to promote ourselves, but also because people were really impressed with the talent that there's in Cordoba in general.

Good things happened this weekend, but I hope you have an even better start of the week.

Winter Stories books

Do you remember this summer I said I was busy working on something? here is the secret! I was illustrating these four children books for Polish publishing house Zielona Sowa! They are written by Urszula Pitura.

I had a lot of fun working on them and I learnt many new things (first time working with a stencil)! All of them are part of a series called Zimowe opowieści (Winter Stories) and they are printed on hard cardboard so little children can hold them easily.

If you are from Poland they are for sale on their web HERE. They can also be bought from empik.com

Once I'm over with an illustration event I'm participating here in my city (Te-beo en la calle), I will post more photos and maybe inside pictures ;). But for now...

Choinka pana Borsuka (Mr. Badger's Christmas tree)

Ślady na śniegu (Tracks on Snow)

Śnieżne gwiazdki (Snowflakes)

Zimowa wyprawa (Winter Expedition)

I really have no words of gratitude to Zielona Sowa for having faith in me to do this project. They were also extremely kind to me. Thank you very much!

With these I have illustrated five books. So happy!! :)

That's all for now! See you!

Halloween Ghost

This little and cute ghost is ready to celebrate Halloween ;)

I wanted to draw his/her face decorated as the typical drawings used for Dia de los Muertos' skulls. It was fun and relaxed to do.

As this month is almost finished and I'm trying my best to get to finish this Inktober (from day 1 to 31) for the first time... here my "Halloween" illustration some days before the actual date. For those who celebrate it, have fun dressing up!

See you!

Please remember that you can find the rest of my Inktober's illustrations in my other social media, such as Twitter, FaceBook and Tumblr

Inktober 2015 (2)

Here we go again, five more drawings I have done for this year's Inktober.

I'm really loving playing with these new markets, even if they are cheap, the practice is always welcome to keep improving and I'm learning a lot! I wish I could get better markers, but they can get really expensive, so it's all for the moment.

Can't wait to post the rest of the illustrations I'm doing here little by little, I'm with the 12th already! If you are curious, you can see them in my other social media, such as Twitter, FaceBook and Tumblr

Hope you have a nice day!

Inktober 2015 (1)

These days I'm participating in Inktober. It means I will draw (most like try if I have enough time) a new illustration with inks during all this month of October. I was planing to participate for a few years, why not to try it this year and try some new markers I got recently?

For now I have 5 drawings (the one above this text was made for the first day)! Here are the others:

I'm trying my best to keep doing a new one everyday, but I will do one only when I get time. So if I can do a drawing every day during a month great, if not, I had fun and I drew a lot, which is good enough.

Hope you have a nice October!

Autumn girl

Autumn is in the air!

I really love this season, specially its colors and all it represents!! I wanted to make a new illustration to celebrate it, a little late, but... better late than never.

I'm working on some new illustrations, these days, when I get time. I hope I can post them here little by little :)

Enjoy these days!

My summer in a bottle

I want to create my island, always at hand, to isolate myself from time to time...

I'm back from my holidays! Actually, since a week ago. It was fun, even if now it's taking me a little on time to go back to normal (but I'm almost there! No time to stop!)

I had no time to make many summer-related illustrations, this year, too bad!

Hope you had a nice week, and that you can enjoy the rest of summer, it's almost gone :(

Summer break

Summer related illustration finally!!! Better late than never, don't you think? It's still summer right?

It could look like this summer I did nothing, but I promise it's not true. The result of this summer will be known soon! For now, next week I will be a holiday for me. I will go to the beach! Better late than never :D I made this illustration to celebrate it... (I'm almost sure I will forget something.) So, nothing new for another week, but I really need it, I need to relax a little.

For those who finish their holidays, cheer up! For those like me, enjoy them and get lots of energy! See you next week :)

Color to me

Something fast to say "hello and I'm still alive" with a smiling... butterfly-like-palette. A strange idea which appeared in my head some time ago. I think this little one creates itself day by day!! A true artist for sure ;)

Now back to work! I'm really busy these days, with no time, but I'm learning a lot about myself for sure (and also, with lots of colors involved!) :D

Hope you have a nice day!!

Water Time

Hot weather arrived, it's time to water plants (and ourselves) more than usual. Enjoy your water time!

And really, here is too hot, at least in my city, I live in one of the hottest cities of Spain. In summer, it's terrible, really, no way to survive!! And it's just the start of the summer!

About how I will spend the summer, I won't enjoy it at all, I keep on working on that something, I have been for a while, and there is still a long way to go!. I have no time left these days (that's why I'm so out of the internet), but I'm fine, I'm doing what I really love :).

Enjoy your water time, please! Hope you have a nice day! See you soon.

The King of the house

The moment a baby arrives to his/her home, the baby becomes a king or queen! (and there is no gold crown!).

As you can see, there's a little lack of post here lately, but all I can say is that I'm working on something that is taking all my time (and will take for a while) and effort. But I'm really happy and everything is ok, just busy.

I will try to post some illustrations I left prepared in my computer little by little until I get time again.

For now, be patient, and thank you for being there!!

Choose me?

Sometimes the weather is crazy, or maybe you are too indecisive...? Maybe we just have way too much...

How is everything going? These days I have got a little of calm, but it looks like I will get busy very soon. I'm not sure when I will post a new illustration again, I will try with what I have got done, but I'm scared I won't even get enough time for that... but no problem!! It's something good and I need to concentrate on it. I will let you know about it soon, once it's all finished :).

For now let's enjoy these days, to draw for myself a little.

Hope you have a nice week. Thank you for being there, I really appreciate it!!

Leaf Girl

I can't help feeling like drawing plats-related illustrations lately. Nature is all around us, just take a look!! :)

This illustration was made with some old rotrings, and later colored digitally. I had a lot of fun with it!!

So, I keep on working on some illustrations and so, but I'm finishing them little by little, and everything is going nicely. I hope soon I get time to draw some things for myself, as lately I'm only able to do fast sketches, and from time to time. They help me to relax. For now, I can't do more than to go (happily) back to work!

As soon as possible I will go back to my old self, showing a new illustration every week. Till then, have fun and thank you for being there!!

The Little Prince and the snake

"Whomever I touch, I send back to the earth from whence they came" the snake spoke again.

It's one of the things I have been working on lately. I got selected, among other illustrators, to participate in a really interesting project called "Invisible a Los Ojos", to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the creation of the famous book called "The Little Prince", written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. More than 150 illustrators were chosen to illustrate one of the chapters of this famous children's book, with their own interpretation and style.

I got chapter number 17, where the Little Prince arrives for the first time to the Earth and ends up lost in a desert in Africa talking to a mysterious and powerful snake... I was really happy to participate illustrating my own Little Prince (and snake too!! I can't help feeling fond for this character, I don't see him as "bad guy", actually...), I had a lot of fun planning it, and I really tried my best with this one :). This book is being "following" me for a long time, so maybe it was time to do something special for it. Finally ;)!!

If you are curious, you can take a look, at the same time as you can read the whole book (Spanish only), at the web here. Also, my illustration can be found here. Don't hesitate to take a look to others's illustrations, they are really interesting and refreshing!!

But it looks like the journey is still not over... lets see what will happen ;). For now, more information on FaceBook!!

Painting my way

Illustration I made last year, and which I selled as a print this day in my old school. It was really fun to do, I even got some badges with it :D

I keep being busy, but I'm finishing soon all my obligations... or so I think, I'm too perfectionit, maybe? But oh well, I'm fine and quite happy, nothing to worry about, I will go back to my normal self soon!

By the way, actually, I wanted to show you another work today, but at the end I changed my mind last minute. Surely I will post it here next week and I will tell you all details about it. I'm really happy with how all this turned out :)

Hope you have a nice day, thanks for being there!! Have fun!!

Cheese lover

Something fast I made some months ago to try some brushes I made, so here is a little test of a little mouse enjoying his meal :)!

I keep being busy lately, I'm drawing a lot, and because of that I have little time left for myself (non stop mode), but it's alright, little by little it's been done and I'm loving it all, which is always a good thing :)

Spring is almost here, I hope it to be a good season. Have fun!!

500 thanks!

This illustration is my way to celebrate I finally got 500 like on my Facebook Fan Page (but at the time I finished it I actually had more than 500... my bad). I was not planing posting it here in my blog, but why not?

I had fun drawing the number as a train, with its peculiar passengers (romance included?).

This
week I have been working on a special illustration, I think I will can show it to you really soon. Have a nice day!!

Parachuting Cup

From time to time it's good to jump into the unknown (it can be literally with a parachute... or even a serviette, or metaphorically ;)

Again, one of my cups, this one also appeared in my little calendar. Really, I need to take photos of it really soon!! At least one!

About me, these days are being really busy (I think I will be for a while), I have a lot pending work to do, but I'm also quite happy with it, it's forcing me to try new things, which is always nice, to challenge oneself. It's funny how all work comes to you at the same time, I can be quite "relaxed" for a few days (and I mean as working on something for another person, not for myself), and then... there is a lot of work just in front of you!! It's quite usual for any artist, isn't it?, I really can't complain :)

I will tell you about all this work really soon. For now, have fun and see you next week!!
