Developing the soul

This is the last watercolor I made.

It was for my talented friend Pilar Alcaro, who asked me to draw her a portrait with this technique, to represent her (or how I see her), but not too realistically. She asked me for a lot of color and to draw some photography objects on it (as she is photographed), in this case, a film roll and a simulated diaphragm at her chest. And freedom, she wanted me to draw it without restrictions.

I'm glad I decided to give it a try, something different once in a while is nice! So, I tried hard to talk about this wonderful and strong person with this watercolor, but I leave the interpretation of what every element means to you.

By the way, if you are curious, you can see some of her photography in her two blogs, HERE and HERE, I'm sure you won't regret it! And I can assure you she has more works to show you in the future, so keep an eye on her! ;)
Hope you have a nice week! Have fun!

Spike and balloon

This little hedgehog is ready to go to the festival! Maybe he should be careful with his spikes! Or his balloons will explode really soon!! Although... aren't those more balloons inside that bag?.

I drew this illustration before I left for my holidays, when people used to go to festivals thanks to the warm weather. The weather is getting colder here as the days go by, but I wanted to show it here anyway.

So, these days I have been working a little with my blog. There're still many things I want to change... but little by little! At least I'm having fun with it :).

But! I can't be only working on it! I have been drawing a lot!. In case you didn't see my Twitter, I have been posting there some new illustrations there, so if you are curious, go check them here! Though not only final illustrations! I'm also showing from time to time some "wips" of future illustrations I'm working on at the moment :)

Time to keep working on new illustrations to show you soon! Have fun this week and see you!!

Spongy waters

Not too much time left to swim before summer comes to an end, so better to go for it it before the weather gets cooler!.

When you look at the sky, and it's full of clouds... don't you feel like swimming in them? That's the idea I got to draw this illustration, and as summer's end is close... I thought it was the right moment :)

Last week I finally got back from my vacations! It was really fun and I got a lot of energy to start some things I left planned before them! One of those things is a new look for my blog!! I wanted to change it for a long time, so I left a draft of it and these last days I have been working on it! There're still things which I want to change, though the fact that I tried to decorate the blog by myself is a big achievement for me :)

Nothing else for today! Back to work again! I hope you have a nice week!

Sweet bath

Those cookies are ready for a milk bath!!

I haven't drawn them (the cookies I mean) till this time, it was nice to go back to them and to draw them interacting with one of my cups! Those cookies look like little lively creatures which jump constantly around a cup! (or at least for now!).

So, my life is just as usual, I have been drawing as much as I could during these days, but now it's time to rest a little from work. I still need to finish some illustrations before, but, next month I will finally have vacations!! Yeah, everyone will be finishing theirs but I sadly couldn't. It's been a thought wait (the weather here is terrible), but I think I deserve it! I hope I get good energy thanks to those days!!

Because of that, and because I need time to finish certain illustrations, I won't post anything here in my blog till I'm back. So expect me to be back once September is started. But you can still find me on Twitter!

So, if you are finishing your holidays, have a nice day and good luck with your work/school! Start them with energy! See you on September everyone!!

Thank you for being there :)

Mother's hug

A mother is always there to give you a hug, no need to ask for it, no matter where you go in your life, her love will always follow you :)

The origin of this illustration is an old sketch, but I just felt like to draw it finally recently. It happens a lot to me, I'm constantly drawing sketches, more than I'm actually "coloring" an illustration.

One of these little sketches I'm talking about can be lost in a sketchbook for months, in some cases even years!!, but there's always a time when I felt it's the right moment to finish it (or that I casually found it at the right moment).

Sure, the final illustration can change a little of the original sketch, but its essence is there anyway. Of course, there're exceptions too. Sometimes I sketch the illustration I really want to finish at the moment, but there many cases in which I decide to finish it once I got that feeling. I don't want to rush things if it's something I'm doing for myself.

Of course, you can imagine all the sketches I have pending to be finished someday... I have to time to feel bored at all with them!!

Anyway, back to work again!! to finish some of these sketches, patiently waiting for me ;)! Have fun!!

Cup house

Something different this time to show you!! a cup (and a plate) resembling a house! with its handle as a chimney so the steam gets out safely. Wouldn't you live there at least during vacances?? ;).

Not obsessed or something with cups at all, as you can see...

Not too much to tell this week, just that I have been drawing less than I woud like, but that I'm trying to go back to my normal "schelude" little by little. Still planning new illustrations and finishing a few I can't wait to show you!!

Anyway, hope your summer is a little more interesting than mine! but I hope you have fun!! See you soon with new illustrations!!
