To the goal
The match is about to start! Human kid vs. mole. Who will win? Ready to shoot!
Playing with textures, layers and brushes. It was an experiment, but it was really fun to do!! I can't believe I got the idea for this from a small sketch of a boy with his balloon, alone. That's what I was talking about in my post about sketches. You never know what can help you to create a new illustration, even if it's only for a test.
Time to get ready to work again! Yesterdays was not a so productive day, so I need to make up for loss time. Too much to do,
Have fun!!

Running out of coffee
I haven't drawn any of my cups in a while, I missed it a lot!! I need to go back to them slowly, or at least from time to time.
Anyway, back to work! Enough rest. Hope you have a nice start of the week full of energy.
See you!

Time to wake up!
Spring is here!! And these little "flowers" are ready lo blossom and to say hello to you from their pot-house :).
I also made a character design for these little girls, even if you can't see it because of the leaves around them, but as as soon as I get time, I will finish it to show it to you.
Anyway, I really had a lot of fun with it (it was suppossed to be a fast illustration, but I couldn't help myself to keep going with it...). Also, it gave me the excuse to draw this kind of plant pot. It reminds me to my old house, we had some of them with this style back then. So, I decided to post it here now because of spring just started! I thought it was the right moment :)
Nothing else for today! I'm not sure if I will get time to post anything here this weekend so have a nice weekend!!

About sketching
Today I'm busy, so I decided to show some old sketches of illustrations I already finished here, so you can see how some of my illustrations are created.
Sketching is a really important part of the creative process regardless of the artistic discipline. If you have an idea, you need to draw/write it down in a paper as soon as possible. It will help you to visualise what you really want to get, to see if it's viable and what you need to eliminate.
Try not to start working directly with your first idea. Make some little drawings at first. Don't start sketching many detailed illustrations: you need to draw shapes, (like circles or triangles for example) to help yourself to know if your idea is good.
For the illustration of the little girl above, I drew some little representations (and here I only showed two of them) of the idea I wanted to get. Once I decided which composition I wanted, I designed the girl who appeared in it. This final illustration is here.
Sometimes, when I'm not working on something specific or for someone, but more for myself, I like to draw random little sketches of ideas I am getting at the moment. Some of these ideas stay as sketches for a long time (others are finished as soon as I draw them). Later, when I'm cheeking my sketchbook, I decide to start working with them from cero if I feel it's "the right moment".
Always bring a sketchbook with you, you never know when you will get a new idea ;)!
The last illustration is more finished. I wanted to create a character design for a little bird. Just to play with a different style. It's one of those cases where I create the design directly from zero and I decide to start illustrating it directly.
You just need to have fun with what you do, but try to take it seriously. Work with many ideas, compositions, moving components, perspective, etc. Also, if you are working for a client, it will be really appreciated you can show them many possibilities ;)
Long post today!, I hope you have a nice day. See you!!

Wavy sea
Old illustration I made in my old Moleskine in 2012!! I totally forgot to post it here, my bad. It's been a long time since I drew this one, how many memories... :).
I need to go back to draw in my Moleskine as soon as I get to finish some illustrations. I miss how much fun I had with it, and even if its been long since last time I finished it, I still love it so much... my little sketchbook.
Anyway, back to work again!. Today I plan to start a new illustration at least and later to watch a movie.
See you :D

Melting
Again one illustration from one of my newest series. You can find more of this little series, the first one here, and the second one is here. I'm not sure when I will post a new one, but as the weather is getting warmer where I live (at least for now), I couldn't resist to post it now, so... my bad :D.
Nothing else for today, just that I'm working on many things and that I wish I could stop time, you know, it would be great... If not, it would also be really cool I could duplicate myself to be in two places at same time ;).
I feel a little tired but it's time to keep going!
See you! Have fun!!
