Hanging a new start

An old simple pop up I made in my old Moleskine at the end of 2011. I thought I already posted it here... but I didn't. As it's Christmas-like, I thought it was the right time ;)

I designed this little tree-dressed girl. Every year, she takes her stairs and she puts up a new star that represents the year which is about to end, that's why it's written 2011 in the star she's holding. So, this time, she would "hang" 2013's star. A new year that is about to finish, and a new year that will be born soon!

Looking at this illustration, I got a lot of memories. It's been a long time, these years, from 2011 to 2013, passed away quickly. These years were I met a lot of people, and that helped me to know more about myself, and about people around me. I drew more, especially this year, and I don't plan to stop with it, if maybe to specialize more, and trying new things that will help me to improve and to keep learning. New year, new resolutions ;)

Horse year (chinese year) is about to start!! Bye bye Snake's year. You were, generally, a good one for me. Other than that, it was not a good year for people around me talking about health. I hope next one to be better in this aspect.

Happy new year 2014!! Be happy and goog luck!!

Getting ready

This little cup is ready for whatever awaits him, fearless, accepting it and looking forward.

These days I'm really busy!! that's why I couldn't post anything here. But don't worry!! I keep drawing every time I have time for myself, it's just that these days are crazy :(

The end of the year is almost here!! I can't believe it's coming to an end so soon... I really hope for this new year to be a good one, especially for a person, and for the people around that person... they deserve it, they really do.

Anyway, I hope you have a nice day!!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!! I made this illustration as a postal ;). I had a lot of fun while planning it... I wanted this little girl to have an umbrella, and to make it looks like a Christmas tree itself, even with ornaments and a star on top of it ;). She's walking over a shooting star, as if it was a road... or maybe it's the path she chose to take, where will it lead her? ;)

I sketched today a "sequel" for this illustration, in some way! but I'm not sure if I will get time to post it on time... well I will try to do it (the sketch at least), I promise!

Hope you have a really nice holidays, and for the start of the year to be kind to you. Be happy and glad for what you have, enjoy these days with the people around you who love you... Good luck!

I don't know if I will get time to post anything here tomorrow, so, have fun!!

Waiting for Santa

Christmas Day is almost here!! This little cup, and his friends, are so excited they can't wait to meet Santa Claus as soon as possible. They don't care for presents, they just want to meet him ;).

These days I'm really busy (places and people to meet), and even if I will keep an eye on my blog and internet every day, maybe I won't can post daily, but I will try hard to keep going with it. But, you know, these holiday days are like these.

Are you waiting for Santa? Do you celebrate it? In my house, we don't exactly "celebrate" it. Since being kids, my sister and myself waited for Santa to leave us a present, but it was always a small present, to keep us entertained till the big day, the important celebration in my country: the arrival of Three Wise Kings (January 6th).

I have good memories, of my sister and myself preparing milk and cookies for all of them (for Santa and for the Three Wise Kings, and water for their camels). And you know what? They drank and ate our cookies every year, which made us very happy ;)

Have nice holidays!! See you!!

Pattern girl

Sketch from my little sketchbook.

I have too many things to do and places to go! I need time to stop, if only a little... But it has good things too. I've met also really nice people lately, and I'm quite motivated right now thanks to them too. People around you can influence you for sure. Sometimes you need to go out of your comfort zone to keep going. I don't regret anything I have done so far, and having around me people that appreciate me (old and new ones). Thank you for always dealing with me, and for supporting me too.

Nothing else for today!! have fun and tomorrow more ;).

Letters delivery

This little elf is ready for delivery! He won't stop till these letters arrive in a fat red-dressed man, no mater if it's snowing ;).

These days I'm really busy! The new year is almost here, and I want to take advantage of it all I can, it's like running out of time! There are too many things I want to try (and to show you!) ... But I also need to attend some obligations, so I won't can keep drawing all time I would like to :(.

Winter is here today!! Take care of your health to start the new year with energy... and Merry Christmas ;)

To the adventure

Finally I can show you this illustration!!!

I was really happy when Pilar from Bienvenidos a Lilliput asked me to draw the cover of the first number (nº0) of her magazine!!  Of course I wanted to participate ;). After a many sketches we decided to draw this illustration of two adventurer mouses ploughing through the sea... or maybe a lake? But how are the bravest? the captain or the cabin boy ;)

I had a lot of fun while drawing it, I enjoyed every little detail and texture of it. It almost made me feel bad when I finished it... :(

Also, inside there's a little interview about myself and my illustrations, among other really good and personal sections. It's very colorful!!. If you want to know more about this magazine, take a look to this post (Spanish only).

Once I know of some places where you can get it, I will let you know ;).

Here is a list of places where you can find this magazine... and more ;)

Have fun and enjoy this adventure with us!!

Tea cookies

Some weeks ago I sketched these little cookies interacting with some of my "cup series". So, we can say they are new characters that will appear together with my cups once in a while ;). I will try to find time to finish some of these sketches as soon as possible!!

Yesterday I had a lot of fun!! I continued with an illustration I left unfinished and I had a lot of fun with it!! *____*. I spent almost all day with it. I missed that feeling! I have been (and will be) very busy these days! and I didn't get proper time to enjoy my time drawing something ;)

So, see you tomorrow!! Have fun!!

Not enough caffeine

Mornings, especially on Mondays, can be hard! so maybe a little a little of caffeine can help you to stay up... even if for this little one, it is a little difficult right now ;)

This weekend was a relaxing one for me, but one that came to me with surprises that made me smile :). Now it's time to start working again with some illustrations I left unfinished for these holidays... I hope I can finish them on time!! Too many things to do... this month will be hell!!

See you tomorrow!! Have a nice start of the week, with energy, there's no time to sleep! ;)

My second Moleskine

Today I decided to make a different post.

Do you remember my second Moleskine? I got it as a present from my sister. Once I finished with my old one, I decided to start with it. I was really surprised when I saw that the new one came with a little... "imperfection".

Yeah, it was... "stabbed" from its front cover through some pages (watercolor pages, I mean, they're not very thin). Because of its rubber-band, my sister didn't see it. Too bad, it was a present and there was no way I could return it to get a new one because I ripped its protector plastic.

Then I thought... why not to take advantage of it? Time to decorate! Nothing complicated, jut simple and cute.

Right after opening it I decided to cover the hole with decorated tape as if it was a strip. But before, I glued a piece of wrapping paper and drew its cord.

For the next page, where you can write your personal information in case of loss, I decided to use one of the lines and continue drawing it to use to tie the hanging cage. This time, this little illustration is more conceptual, the sky is trapped inside the cage, but the birds are flying free away ;)

For the next page, I played again with collage using different papers. The hole hides thanks to the basket.

What do I want to say with it? If you have someday a similar "problem" (as I now know it's not THAT bad), take advantage of it and use your imagination! Thanks to this little "imperfection" I love a lot my second Moleskine, even if it's still not finished.

Have fun!!

Jump and continue

I never intended to post this illustration in my blog (which I made in my Moleskine some months ago). But I changed my mind, I thought that I only could post it today...

My best wishes for you.

Jam little girl

Another illustration done with pencil colors I made recently! This time, a little girl wearing a dress that reminds to a jam jar. I thought she would like to eat to eat some strawberries, together with bread :)

Nothing else to say, just that yesterday was hell!! If this is how these days will be, I'll need time to recover (well, it was not that bad, just really stressful at the end of the day thanks to slow computers and slow internet.. I hate it...). I hope today will be better.

Have a nice day!!

Hard-working cup

This little cup is trying his best! it will take him time, because he's not too strong, but he can do it for sure!!

Here I'm again! Time to go back to work!! Not that I stopped drawing, at all, but these holiday days (in my country) helped me to relax a little and to think ;). Even so, I can see next days will be busy again, as Christmas is almost here!! Too many things to do, places to go, obligations, so many people to meet... I'm feeling overwhelmed just to think about it :(! Of course it's not bad!! but it will take time away from me... but it can be helped after all, it's time to say goodbye to this year :).

I will try to keep posting here as regularly as possible, but I'm sure I will be back to normal once these days come to an end.

Anyway, I hope you can enjoy (and to survive) these days. See you tomorrow and thank you for being there! ;)

Last leaves

Old sketch I found among a pile of sheets. I thought it was the right time to show it here, as autumn soon will come to an end...

It reminds me of an illustration I made during a festival, specifically, I was invited to draw in live in my city, back in 2011, if I remember correctly. Sadly I couldn't take the illustration with me (but I know someone took good care of it ;) ), but I know I got some photos done by a photographer classmate that day, so I will look for them and show them here (if my friend is OK with it, of course!), even it's been some years ago :)

Today I will try to finish a new illustration at least, so nothing else for today! Have fun and tomorrow more :)!!

Mushroom case

New traditional illustration!. Again my dear pencil colors...

This mushroom is like a bookcase to enjoy reading, very practical ;). I'm sure to read on top of it can be really comfortable.

Yesterday was a very busy day (in many ways! so embarrassed and nervous... but you guys were so kind... thank you.)! That's why I couldn't post anything here... I ended very tired at the end, but with a lot of energy, and motivation. I'm sure I can keep going even if it takes me time, I'm more positive. Look forward and to life present!! :).

It made me realize how lucky I'm of what I have and who I am. I already knew it, or people said it to me, but it's always good that someone reminds it to you once in a while. I got out of there more positive and loving what I do more.

Also, I met really lovely people there! I hope I can keep contact with them and to see what
the future has for us ;)

More news about it in the near future. See you tomorrow!!

Lunarcitos

Last Friday was I Fiesta Patillera, organized by Sus Pasitos. I designed and assembled some badges as presents for their visitors with their logo and one of them with an original illustration made by me.

That day I tried to help as much as I could, and I even helped in one of the workshops that were celebrated there, specifically, one of paint organized by Eva Cano Castiñeira.

I meet lots of kids, and it was great to explain and to help them with their handicrafts (to create a chameleon with a wooden clothespin and cardboard). It was great to see how every kid decorated their own clothespins, with many colors and designs. But there was one kid that was coloring it all green. That's how this story begins.

He started talking to me about his little chameleon, that he wanted it to be well done, so that's why it was all green. I told him that it was very pretty, and I started explaining to him how to make his eyes with clay, but he wanted to draw them better. He was scared his eyes would be too big...

-Don't worry about that!! Chameleons eyes are very big! They can move them a lot to look around, and they can even look behind and above them.

-And can they look into space and look for planets and rockets!?

-Sure they can!

Why not? That's what I love about children...And that's how we started talking about his chameleon. Then he decided to start drawing many dots to it.

- And how will you name him?

- I'm going to name him... "Lunarcitos"!

Here is a photo of his chamilion, not completly finished.

So cute :)!! Then he started to tell me about his story, that he could talk, how he got his paws hurt by a shark, that he couldn't walk very well...

- But, is he happy?

- He is!!

- That's good!! That's what matters!

That little time with D (let's call this little boy like this) was great. He was very imaginative and talking with him made me feel like a child that again believed everything was possible and fun. He said he wanted to be an artist in the future, I'm sure you will be a very good one!!

I drew the illustration you can see above all this post very fast, and it doesn't make Lunarcitos justice, but I couldn't resist to draw your chameleon, D. Thank you for telling me about him. I loved to hear his story from you. I had a lot of fun! My best wishes for you and your family :)

Long post for sure, but I had to tell you about this little boy that impressed me.

Nothing else for today! Have fun and tomorrow more!
